White Mountain Shooters Association

Range hours: 9-5 for Summer, starting May 1.

WELCOME!

With the very limited snowfall this winter, the range has been open almost every weekend. Thanks go to our dedicated Range Safety Officers, who have volunteered their time to be there for the shooters. This lso means that the various clubs have continued to shoot as well. Spring is here, so clean your guns and come out to the range!

Coming events include:

A CMP Qualification Match so members can buy a 1911 .45 from the CMP
Another AR-15 class
The non-competitive Defensive Pistol League
And almost anything else you would like to see!
Plus, we have added a steel target to the 100 Yard range!

The goal of the White Mountain Shooters Association is to provide you a safe, clean, family friendly environment to enjoy shooting rifles and pistols.

We currently offer a 100 yard all-purpose range, a 50 yard pistol range equipped with turning targets, and four training and competition bays. Our range officers are there to insure everyone remains safe.

If you like to compete, or just want to see what it is like, our member clubs welcome new shooters. We offer:

Bullseye Pistol
Muzzleloading
High Power Rifle
Cowboy Action Shooting
Practical Pistol and Rifle
A Junior division
Ladies Shooting Organization

I invite you to check out the various clubs on our CLUBS page. Future plans include a 300 yard range, clubhouse, classroom, and resident caretaker.

So come on out and shoot in the great outdoors!

The WMSA Monthly board meetings have a new venue, and a new time. We will be meeting at the Show Low Cafe, 480 W/ Deuce of Clubs (across from the GIANT station and the car wash). The meetings shall continue to be second Wednesday of each month, but will start at 6:30 PM, so we will have time to enjoy some of the great home style cooking they offer. Join us there!

HELP WANTED!

The White Mountain Shooters Association is looking for a new Junior Shooter Club Director for the Second Knoll Target Range. WMSA is committed to providing safety and shooting instruction to the youth of the White Mountains. We are looking for an individual with some experience as a shooting instructor, who wants to teach fundamentals and possibly start a junior shooting club. WMSA has several members who are willing to assist the new director.

If you are interested in this position please contact Brenda Silva at (951)719-6676 or
brenda_shinn@sbcglobal.net

WMSA is a Civilian Marksmanship Program affiliated club, and members are eligible to buy rifles, ammo, and (when available) 1911's via the CMP.  Check the CMP web site for details. Check out CMP News on .45's!

Also:

Last year, WMSA offered a class on the care and maintenance of the AR15 that was very popular. The Instructor, Jeff Wall, has offered to repeat the class if 15 or more people sign up. You will learn a lot from a highly experienced rifle marksman and combat veteran. Call 928-205-3609 to sign up. A date will be selected after enough interest is shown. (100% of funds raised go toward the improvement of the Second Knoll Target Range.)

The range is located 4.5 miles east of the intersection of 77 and 60, on 60. Look for the signs. It is Forest Service road 206. If you reach Bourdon Ranch Road, you have gone about 1/2 mile too far.

The club phone number is 928-205-3609.
