Become an RSO
Our range could not operate without our volunteer Range Safety Officers (RSOs) who insure the Second Knoll Target Range is safe so everyone can enjoy their time shooting. All are shooters themselves and want to ensure the well being of all our guests and members. The RSOs wear bright safety vests and nametags and are willing to get shooters signed in and their targets set up.
Please consider becoming a Second Knoll Target RSO. You will be helping the club, helping the shooters, and enjoying the great outdoors.
We provide training for the RSO position including:
- Firearms safety/reviewing the rules with shooters
- Signing in shooters/collecting fees and memberships
- Monitoring the firing line
- First aid, CPR, and AED usage
All training is free, and RSOs get a key to the office and the combination to the gate so they can shoot anytime even when the range is closed! In return we require a minimum of 2 “shifts” per month (2 half days or one full day).

The 100 Hour Club
These RSOs donated 100 hours of service on the public range. We love our RSOs.
