The White Mountain Shooters Association is pleased to announce the schedule for AR rifle instruction for the calendar year 2026.

• As in previous years, the ever popular Care and Feeding of the AR Rifle classwill be held; this year on 16 May at Timber Mesa Fire Station 13.
• New this year is the AR Rifle Zeroing and Basic Marksmanship class. It will be held at the Second Knoll Target Range on 7 June.
• The third event is the 2-day Defensive AR Rifle Marksmanship Course. It will also be held at the Second Knoll Target Range on 31 October and 1 November.

The first course was held last November and was both well-attended and well-received.

Care and Feeding of the AR Rifle

In brief, the Care and Feeding Class goes through the rifle from muzzle to butt explaining the how and why the rifle works, what the critical parts are, how to tell when they need replacing. It’s all about how to take care of your rifle to ensure its maximum performance. As always, SAFETY is emphasized!

AR Rifle Zeroing and Basic Marksmanship

Experience has shown that it takes half a day to get all class participants’ rifles zeroed and since you are there on the range why not cover marksmanship too? . . . So there’s the why behind the Zeroing and AR Rifle Marksmanship Class. Coming as no surprise, SAFETY is emphasized!

2-day Defensive AR Rifle Marksmanship Course

The Defensive AR Rifle Marksmanship Course is a 2-day event designed to teach how to use your rifle in an extreme situation (such as a home invasion by multiple perpetrators) to protect your family and yourself, and both win & survive. Yet again, SAFETY is emphasized!

Finally, the instruction is spread out over several weeks & months so that students have time to schedule their attendance as well as practice what they have learned before the final 2-day Defensive AR Rifle Marksmanship Course.
